Our Season of Saving

We have all had to do it at some point in our lives. Sometimes even more than once. It’s that realization that there’s more money “out-going” than “in-coming”.

It’s a sick feeling. One of wonderment almost. You ask yourself, “How did that happen?" or “Why didn’t I see that coming down the pike?”

Maybe it’s unplanned medical expenses. But aren’t they all? We don’t plan on being sick or having a medical emergency. Or what about an emergency vet visit for your fur-baby? We personally don’t own a pet, but I’ve heard from firsthand accounts how one of those can run into thousands of dollars! Yikes! Certain expenses have started to snowball and we want to stop the downhill trend now.

With all that being said, I’m letting everyone publicly know that Bear and I are entering what we are calling, our “Season of Saving”. And it is only for a season. Just this fall, September and October.

So, what exactly does that mean? Well, in our case, here’s what we have decided to do differently than in years past. What about going up to Seattle to see Sierra? Nope. Not during this particular season. What about going on our usual sabbatical in October? Nope. Not this season.

At least one of us will stay home and reenter the outside workforce. Which is exactly what I am going to do, starting the last weekend of August. I figured it made more sense for me to stay home and make money other than travel with Bear to different events and spend money!

I have been blessed to have been hired at Gieringer’s Family Farm in Edgerton, KS. I’m thinking, “Why not work somewhere doing something I love to do? And I truly love pumpkin patches, farmers markets, and being outside in the autumn!! “

But that also means, I probably will not be with my Bear traveling during the next couple of months. Like I said, we have had to do this same thing in the past within our marriage and ministry. “Nothing new under the sun”, remember that scripture? Anyway, don’t be sad! It’s not forever! I’ll be back beside him in November.

And folks, since we are going to be around now in October, if the LORD leads you, your church, or your event to pray about seeing if Barry is available to come and share our music ministry, he just might be now.

On my side, I am going to post different photos right here keeping everyone up to date on my new adventure! I believe it is going to be amazing!! I have such a great feeling about this and a peace I can’t describe. I’m excited!

Thanks for understanding and joining us on our Season of Saving.
